FAQ

General Information

What is the price range for your bridal gowns? Made-to-order bridal dresses range from CAD $2500- $6600+ Made-to-order bridal separates range from CAD $700 - $2500 We offer 3 custom design packages that range from CAD $8000- $15,000+ Please note that these prices can vary depending on material and design. What does a fitting look like for a custom look? For your first fitting, we usually use a generic fabric to make a “muslin” sample, which will make it easier for us to adjust the fit and pattern before switching over to the final fabric. During your second fitting, we begin cutting the final fabric and add on the desired lace and embroidery. Please see our custom bridal page for a process breakdown.

How long does it take to make a dress? Made-to-order dresses take 20-24 weeks to complete. Custom design dresses take us 28-36 weeks but the earlier we can get started, the better.

Do you take rush orders? For made-to-order dresses we can accomodate orders up to 8 weeks before your wedding date with a coresponding rush fee. Rush fees range from $150-$500+ depending on the urgency and the style.

I'm nervous about ordering online We offer virtual appointments where we can walk you through the dresses you like in detail, as well as take measurements together so you know your size.

Can you explain your payment process? A 50% non-refundable deposit upon initial purchase is required to hold your dress, with your remaining balance due upon pick up or delivery. Payment plans are available upon request.

I’m still unsure how to measure To avoid mis-sizing, please take precise measurements before you order and size up if you are between two sizes. Remember: it is far easier to alter a garment that is too big for you than one that is too small. If you have any problem measuring yourself, we recommend visiting a local tailor to get measurements taken or email us at studio@om-designstudio.com.

Custom Design & Alterations

What's the difference between made-to-order and custom design? Each year our boutique features a new unique collection consisting of 6-8 styles. These dresses are ready to be tried on at our studio or at one of our stockists. You can place your order based on your sizing, with minor customizations accepted upon approval. For custom designs, we recommend that you try on our made to order samples so you can get a better idea of what material and silhouette you like. Our lead designer will create a design from scratch based on your likes, dislikes, and any inspiration provided.

Are alterations included for made-to-order dresses? No alterations are included in the service for our made-to-order collections. Should you have any questions on how to communicate your fit adjustments to your seamstress, please email us and our team will send our tips and suggestions.

Do I need to pay extra for alterations? If you do need to make any alterations after you've recieved your dress, we charge a fee of $75/hr with a minimum spending of $300. If you order a custom dress, we offer at least 2 complimentary rounds of alterations.
